The Kingdom of the Phoenix by Llealynarisia The Kingdom of the Phoenix by Llealynarisia
It is near the end of World War III. The warring nations, growing desperate for victory, have started to prepare their nuclear warheads for launch. As the nukes fly and the earth slowly blown apart, the civilian populations are herded into specially designed ships. A temporary truce is called while the evacuation of the seemingly dying planet begins. Leaving behind the canines and felines, genetically engineered super soldiers bred for resistance to radiation, the humans flee to the stars to continue their battles.
A million years pass, and the Earth slowly recovers. Surviving wildlife has evolved into completely different creatures with new niches. The continents continue their slow journey across the planet's surface. Almost all traces of human inhabitance has disappeared, ravaged by time and the elements. The forgotten warriors, the canines and felines, have survived and flourished, and a new sentient reptilian species has risen.
However, life for these creatures is about to change. A human city-ship, having grown tired of the unending fighting, has seceded from the nation-fleet and returned to Earth to try to restart civilization. But they soon realize they are going to have to try to survive on a now unrecognizable planet where they are no longer the sole dominant species.

This is the insignia for the first established nation on the world just described, that nation being the Kingdom of the Phoenix. It's not exactly my design, but as soon as I saw it, I just knew it had to be the insignia.

design (c) not me (I have no idea who exactly owns it)
